BOBBY
In January 2008 read about a young greyhound which was due to be put to sleep, for no better reason, than that the people had no further use for him....
So many people pulled together but no rescue spaces were available in Bobby's area.
Hence it was decided, together with Debbie Buxcey, the founder of G4U that they would accept Bobby as a rescue and that I would foster the young boy.
Bobby was born on the 2nd of May2005 and was registered as a fawn and white. From day one Bobby has settled so well...great off the lead...with good recall. He enjoys the company of the other dogs...and they in turn, enjoy his company.
Bobby prefers the country life to town life, and likes it fairly quiet too…
Hence after much deliberation, Bobby has become "one of the family", with the pack organising themselves as follows:
BO general organiser, supervisor.
JULY indoor entertainment.
JIMMY garden entertainment.
SHADOW off lead walks and garden entertainment.

Bobby is being raw fed, loving it and gradually he's gaining weight
and a lovely shine is appearing on his coat.

Bobby, the first few days...
Bobby's 3rd Birthday
We prepared some treats of bacon, sausages and special hamburgers for the boy, which was shared amongst the whole pack. Happy Birthday

July 3rd, 2008, Goodbye Bobby
Bobby collapsed this morning and died of a heart attack.
We are all devastated and Jimmy is quite distressed at the loss of his best friend. They very much enjoyed each other's company, especially in the garden and on walks. Since his arrival, he has been quite a character and a lovely companion to Jimmy. They reminded me very much of 2 boys, just being boys and a little reliant on each other.
He was a real sunshine around the home. He following me around and always wanting to know what was going.

Early this morning, I went out with the hounds as I wanted to experiment with my camera setting. They had a good run and great games together.
As I left the area and we walked together toward the car, I could see that Bobby was in trouble. Could not get to any water but thought of the other best thing and took my jacket off, dipped it into the canal and refreshed Bobby with it. Managed that, laid my very wet jacket on him and gave him resuscitation through the acupuncture points. I seemed to work as he lifted his head several times.
Unfortunately to no avail, Bobby Crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Goodbye beautiful Bobby boy, You will be very much missed by us all.
I think that my only consolation, if there is one, is that he has never suffered and that for the last 6 months of his life, he has known much Love and Joy.
Here are a few pictures of Bobby's last hour of life.
