Life with a Great Dane is a great privilege but a responsibility too. If you have never had a Great Dane and consider sharing your life with a Great Dane there are several points which will need serious consideration.
TIME Great Danes are very sociable animals and do not feel happy left to their own devices for very long. How many hours do you plan to leave your dog on its own?More than 4 hours per day would be unsuitable.Daily exercise, play, training, food preparation and feeding can consist of approx. 2hrs for an adult dog and much more for a puppy.
SPACE - Great Dane puppies' growww… to become VERY LARGE adults. A flat without a direct access to a garden would be unsuitable. Together with its owner, a Great Dane will enjoy a daily romp in large open spaces (woods/fields etc.) but will not necessarily need a very large garden resting/sleeping area of approx. 4' x 6' car-space also needs to be considered.
RESOURCES - Unfortunatley, one has to consider the financial commitment too. It is obvious that the upkeep of a Great Dane will be much more than that for a small, medium or even large dog. There are not only the food bill to consider, but bedding, insurance, vet bills etc., not fogetting the size of your car.
